Sculptued from polystyrene and decorated with copper leaf, this 1:1 scale Kiwi was designed as a kinetic sculpture mimicking flight. The wings are based off those of a Kea, combining two of New Zealand's most treasured birds.
Sculpted during a visit to the U.S. i wanted this sculpture to speak for Kiwi ingenuity and resourcefulness - being made from scrap material left around the Reno workshop and being my first international sculpture, it is somewhat a self-portrait.
Completed for and displayted at RITA 24' - Reno Tahoe International Art Show
